Sarah and Vache’s wedding in Saratoga Springs felt like being in an enchanted forest. Strings of lights amongst the lush tree canopy and little brooks wrapped around everyone as they celebrated and danced the night away. We had an absolute blast with these kind-hearted humans. Thank you for having us Sarah and Vache!

The Wedding In their words
Neither of us had thought about our dream wedding growing up. When it came time to start planning our wedding, we decided to take it on as a team just as how we have attacked everything else in life together. Our search started with finding the right venue that matched our needs and personality. We visited a few locations but knew we could stop looking once we saw Saratoga Springs.
We enjoy hiking and once we walked through trees and streams of Saratoga Springs, the search was over. We used the beautiful scenery as inspiration to help plan the rest.
Their Favourite Details
The centrepieces came together in a makeshift workshop in our garage after countless trips to Michael’s and local florists. We learned more about crafts than we ever imagined and discovered how helpful it would have been to have help planning this portion and to set up the masterpieces on the day of the event. Thankfully, we had several friends who wanted nothing more than to be helpful and for a few glasses of wine, were willing to take on this project.
Even though we hadn’t thought about how our wedding day would come together prior to this planning, we must say that it was exactly what we wanted and I don’t think either of us could have imagined anything better. The venue came out beautiful, the weather was perfect, and the party went off drama free.
There were a lot of great details and it’s hard to pick a favourite, but I must say that I am partial to the chandelier and petals we used in place of a more traditional arch for the ceremony. We had to imagine this in our head as we couldn’t see it put together until the day of and it was even better than we thought. A close second would be the centrepieces, which actually weren’t exactly as planned but a last-minute makeover saved the day when a few pieces temporarily went missing. Hats off to our creative team. The nice surprise was finding the missing parts and returning them. It was like a wedding gift from Michael’s.
When a photographer we met at a friend’s wedding was unavailable, we asked for a referral and that’s when we learned about Abby and Dave. We did a bit of research and loved their style and once we had a chance to talk, it was clear that they would be the best team to capture our event. We were lucky that our only photography contact was already booked for that day as Abby and Dave did the most amazing job and we could not have asked for better pictures. We enjoyed the day-after session very much and it definitely exceeded our expectations. After a comfortable stroll in the redwoods and a chilly embrace on the beach, we ended up with great memories and better pictures.
Advice for Couple’s Planning a Wedding
If we could do one thing over, which is the advice we would share for the next couple, it would be to hire a wedding planner as there are a lot of details that emerge throughout the process and you don’t want to spend the last 72 hours leading up to your wedding between florists, craft stores, and bakeries.
